Abstract

This research aims at discovering the effect of Problem Based Learning strategy combined with Jigsaw on critical thinking capability and cognitive learning outcomes of 10th-grade students in Jember. This research was conducted through pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group quasi-experiment design. The sample was taken by random sampling. The data was analyzed using anakova. The result showed that the learning strategy did not affect students’ critical thinking capability but significantly affect cognitive learning outcome in a negative way. The learning strategy lowers the cognitive learning outcome due to the failure of the teacher to implement the strategy properly.
