Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the role of education not only in academic achievement, but also in the personal and social development of learners. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) plays an important role in shaping students' character, which not only impacts on academic success but also on their well-being and their social skills. Analyzing the document study research method in the context of science education, the integration of SEL is necessary to help students develop critical thinking skills, communicate effectively, and cooperate with classmates. Through discussing the importance of integrating Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in science learning, it has been revealed that ESE plays a crucial role in shaping students who are not only academically excellent but also emotionally and socially strong. Thus, a more holistic education that was oriented towards personal and social development could help students become more empowered individuals who contribute to society.
