Abstract
This research aims to apply a scaffolding strategy based on the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) principle in sculpture material in class IX-A at SMPN 12 Malang City, using qualitative research methods with a case study research design. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The research results show that the application of scaffolding strategies based on the ZPD principle in sculpture material in class IX-A at SMPN 12 Malang can improve student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by an increase in student pretest and posttest scores, as well as increased student participation and enthusiasm in learning. This research provides implications for teaching sculpture in junior high schools. Applying scaffolding strategies based on the ZPD principle can help teachers improve student learning outcomes.
