Abstract

Character education is important from an early age, particularly in elementary school, because it provides a foundation for future generations facing the challenges of globalization and rapid technological development. These challenges may influence children’s character, making it necessary to instill noble values consistent with Indonesian culture and national identity. This study aimed to explore and describe the character traits of students at SDN Percobaan 1 Malang as shaped through school culture. Using a qualitative narrative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and photographic documentation. The participants were students of Class 5A. The findings show that school routines—such as reciting Asmaul Husna, praying together, singing national songs, saluting the flag, and greeting teachers—effectively developed positive student character. These practices are aligned with the Pancasila Student Profile and reflect moral and nationalistic values.
