Abstract

This study aims to develop digital comic learning media that is effective in increasing students' interest in learning about reaction rate material, focusing on the media's validity, practicality, and overall effectiveness. This research utilizes the research and development method with the ADDIE model. Research instruments were used, including validity sheets to assess the media's validity, student activity observations, and student response questionnaires to evaluate the media's practicality, as well as student interest questionnaires and learning outcomes to measure the effectiveness of the learning media. The findings show that validity results showed a mode score of 4, indicating a very valid category. In terms of practicality, student activity observations yielded an average score of 71%, classified as satisfactory. This finding was further supported by the student response questionnaire, which had a mode score of 4, signifying practicality. Finally, the effectiveness results from the post-interest questionnaire showed a percentage above 80%, indicating an increase compared to the pre-questionnaire, which was also supported by a significant rise in post test scores relative to the pretest. Digital comics can effectively boost learning interest. The digital comic learning media to be developed will be in the form of applications that can display characters, captivating stories, and animations that can move and make sounds. Through images and animations in digital comics, teachers can help students build conceptual understanding and visualize factors that affect the rate of reactions that occur in everyday life.
