Abstract
The research aim to know whether there are differences in students creativity that controlled of initial creativity between that learned with APBL and conventional learning. This research was a quasi experimental with non-equivalent control-group design. The population in this research were students of class XI MIA of SMAN 1 Kedungwaru, Tulungagung. The sample in this research were selected using cluster sampling technique consists of two classes, that are XI MIA 6 (students that learned with APBL) and XI MIA 3 (students that learned with conventional learning), each class con-sists of 40 students. This research data were learning processes and creativity data. Instruments of this research were creativity tests consist of 4 essay questions, observation and documentation. Re-liability of creativity test was 0,58. Hypothesis was tested using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) with pretest as a covariate. The research result was obtained that there are differences in students creativity that controlled of initial creativity between that learned with aPBL and conventional learning, = 18.24 with significance level of 0.00. The average score of students creativity that learned with APBL of 9.27 and a student that learned with conventional learning of 8.15. This means APBL more improve students creativity than conventional learning.
