Introductory text

Flourishing Journal is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal published by Universitas Negeri Malang. The journal publishes empirical research articles in the field of psychology and behavioral sciences, addressing various issues across individual and social contexts.

The journal welcomes original research articles that demonstrate a clear research design and appropriate data analysis. Submissions may cover a wide range of topics within psychology, including developmental, educational, social, clinical, and industrial-organizational psychology. While the journal places particular emphasis on studies conducted in the Indonesian context, it also welcomes submissions from other countries that offer relevant insights, comparative perspectives, or contributions to the development of psychological knowledge.

From 2021 to 2025, Flourishing Journal was published monthly with five articles in each issue. Starting in 2026, the journal is published quarterly (March, June, September, and December).

Flourishing Journal has been nationally accredited (SINTA 4) as a scientific journal under the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (valid until Vol. 7, No. 9, 2027).

The journal welcomes a variety of approaches to empirical research (qualitative, quantitative, R&D, and mixed methods), as well as high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The journal's goal is to serve as a medium for researcher communication as well as a link between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.

The journal places particular emphasis on research conducted within the Indonesian context, recognizing the nation’s distinctive educational, socio-emotional, and cultural characteristics. It is published by Universitas Negeri Malang with Perkumpulan Profesi Pendidik Geografi Indonesia (P3GI). The journal carries the DOI prefix 10.17977. It is nationally accredited (SINTA Rank 2) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia through Decree No. 158/E/KPT/2021 dated December 9, 2021.

As of April 2025, JPG has been cited 141 times in the Scopus database. The average time from submission to the first decision is approximately 4 weeks, with a total publishing timeline of around 35 weeks.

JPG publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and literature reviews in the fields of geography and geography education in English. Established in print since 1995 and online since 2015, the journal accepts manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere. Submissions are reviewed by editors and/or peer reviewers, and editorial revisions may be applied for formatting consistency without altering the content.
